Updates

Hello 5th grade families,
It has been an exciting start to the school year! We would like to thank our students for the hard work they have put into the new school year. In class, we have seen a lot of new and positive friendships as the Samuel Morey and Westshire classes have merged. We will continue to work and develop these new relationships through bonding activities in the coming weeks.
Also, we want to reach out to families about 5th grade's homework policy. We believe that homework is an important tool that helps students practice and improve skills outside of school. Important things to keep in mind:

-Students should expect to have homework every night.
-This work should not take more than 30 minutes if the student is focused.
-On Monday, Wednesday, and Friday students will receive homework in Humanities.
-On Tuesday and Thursday students will have homework in STEM.
-If students do not turn in homework, their guardian/ parent(s) will receive a phone-call in addition to losing points for the assignment

Please reach out if you have any questions about this policy.

Also, we have received questions about volunteering in the classroom. If you or another adult in the school community would like to volunteer please use the link below to complete a volunteer form! We are excited to collaborate with the community!
